The 2017-18 PGA Tour season began with four Baylor School graduates, an unprecedented feat in the sport.

It will continue in the FedEx Cup playoffs with three – Luke List, Keith Mitchell and Harris English – vying among the top 125 players who have qualified for the four-week competition that starts Thursday morning with The Northern Trust at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, New Jersey. Each ensuing tournament will have a reduced field until next month’s crowning Tour Championship at East Lake in Atlanta, which will include just 30 players.

List finished the PGA Tour’s regular season 29th in the FedEx Cup standings, with Mitchell winding up 68th and English 124th. Those competing in the FedEx Cup playoffs already are assured of having a PGA Tour card for the 2018-19 season.

“Obviously having four guys from the same high school on the PGA Tour this year speaks tremendously to the amazing coaching and to the program King Oehmig built at Baylor,” List said. “Keith’s incredible rookie year has been so impressive, and Harris remains steady as always. He just continues to build on an awesome career.”

Baylor is the first high school to produce three players in the FedEx Cup playoffs since Milton High in the Florida panhandle had Bubba Watson, Heath Slocum and Boo Weekley during the first four years of the event, 2007-10. List and English competed in last year’s FedEx Cup playoffs, with List reaching the third leg, the 70-player BMW Championship in Pennsylvania, before being eliminated.
