Alabama is reminding the college football world that commitments are nonbinding until signing day.

In the span of several hours Saturday night, Nick Saban’s Crimson Tide flipped five-star safety prospect Daxton Hill, who had been committed to Michigan since September, and four-star cornerback Jeffery Carter, who had been committed to Texas A&M since July.

Alabama now has 24 commitments for the 2019 recruiting cycle, including 21 four-star prospects.

Hill, a 6-foot-1, 186-pounder from Tulsa, Oklahoma, is rated the nation’s No. 1 safety and No. 8 overall prospect by 247Sports.com. Carter, a 6-foot, 186-pounder from Mansfield, Texas, is the No. 11 cornerback nationally and the No. 91 prospect overall.

“What’s understood doesn’t need to be explained,” Carter posted on Twitter late Saturday night. “Respect my decision.”
