The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 57-year-old inmate who was reported to be having difficulty breathing early Friday morning.
Around 3:30 a.m., deputies assigned to the Corrections Division learned that David L. Bulloch was experiencing a medical emergency and they decided to transport him to a local hospital by ambulance from the county jail.
“The inmate was later pronounced deceased by hospital staff on December 14, 2018 at 5:05 a.m.,” reads a sheriff’s office news release.
Hamilton County District Attorney Neal Pinkston has requested the sheriff’s office conduct an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.
The Hamilton County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
“As this is an ongoing investigation, no further details are available at this time,” the news release states.
