LADY VOLS REPORT

Seven Tennessee players scored in double figures in Friday’s 98-77 home win against Murray State. Davis had 20 points and 13 rebounds, while three players chipped in 11 points and three others had 10, including freshman Jazmine Massengill from Chattanooga; the former Hamilton Heights Christian Academy standout had eight assists, her best with the Lady Vols, who had 58 points in the paint.

BRUINS REPORT

Belmont has won three straight games, including the program’s first victory at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 40 years. Maggard, a three-time All-Ohio Valley Conference player, and Roy handle the ball most often, while Wright, a Boyd Buchanan graduate whose father Rusty recently became coach of the UTC football team, has had three consecutive double-digit scoring performances.

KEY MATCHUP

Tennessee’s 3-point defense will be tested today. The Bruins have made 22 more 3-point field goals (100) than free throws (78) this season, with Maggard, Muensterman and Roy are the biggest long-range threats. Harmeyer and Wright have made a combined 19 shots from behind the arc, meaning the Lady Vols will be challenged to stop the ball on the drive first and not allow kickouts for open shots.
