Alabama tight end Major Tennison, who played in five games last season as a freshman, was arrested Wednesday in Tuscaloosa on a misdemeanor second-degree marijuana possession charge.

Tennison was booked at the Tuscaloosa County Jail, with bond set at $300.

The 6-foot-5, 245-pounder from Flint, Texas, signed with Alabama last year as a 247Sports.com four-star prospect and enrolled early. Tennison was not on track to play until Miller Forristall suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Crimson Tide’s third game, against Colorado State.

Tennison wound up competing in five games for the eventual national champions, collecting a 9-yard reception in the 59-0 win at Vanderbilt and a 21-yarder in the 56-0 rout of Mercer.
