We must do our part for clean air
Thank you and Dr. Clif Cleaveland for the article “Air Quality Standards and Your Health.”
As a supplier of air pollution control for 47 years, I take issue with Dr. Cleaveland’s recommendations.
The referenced Dec. 26 JAMA editorial states “there is no ‘absolute’ safe level of exposure to PM 2.5 or ozone.”
Hamilton County air now complies with EPA, TDEC, and local limits of 70 PPB of ozone and 35 micrograms per cubic meter of PM 2.5 dust air. Before we change air laws, we should enable industry to depreciate its investments in air pollution control.
