Trump needs to go for good of country
Granted, Michael Wolff probably isn’t on the short list for a Pulitzer Prize.
Still, my takeaway is that his book, “Fire and Fury,” confirms what pundits (including conservatives George Will, David Brooks and Peggy Noonan, to name a few) and mental health professionals have been saying about Trump’s unfitness for the presidency since before the election.
Just a couple of months ago, Sen. Bob Corker questioned Trump’s stability and competence; Mitt Romney says he’s unfit. Some of our legislators question his fitness. Yet a commentator said Sunday that if a Republican legislator is asked about Trump’s fitness, the first thing he/she will ask a journalist is if the interview is on the record.
Please, it should be obvious to everyone that the mental health of any U.S. president is not a partisan issue. We are all Americans first.
I don’t care if Trump gets impeached or if the 25th Amendment is used to remove him from office. I just want this miserable excuse for a president out of the White House.

Progressive church welcoming to all
In today’s world, it is hard for some to fit in at church. Some churches are too dogmatic or too caught up in the litany. Some people don’t go to church because they are LGTBQ or from another country. They may be burned out on long sermons and altar calls. There are places where you can fit in.
I belong to New Hope Presbyterian Church, on Shallowford Road just off I-75 at the street going into the mall. The service follows a traditional pattern, with traditional hymns, but has a relaxed service and is progressive in its thinking.
The minister is a woman, in seminary working on a doctorate in ministry. The members are diverse. Today, there were two people of color and two from Asia, and ages went from a toddler to the elderly. We have many women in leadership positions, and several members have gone into the ministry in the past.
If you are unable to fit into your church or cannot find a church that accepts you, come and join us at New Hope.
I think you will be accepted and cared for, no matter who you are.

No moral order? Then no order
Without a moral order, there is no order, which is becoming apparent as reason dies and our society’s morals decline.
Coming out of the ’40s and ’50s in which the emphasis on higher education and science began, one would expect after 70 years we would have become a more friendly, virtuous society. The results show the opposite, leading to the questions: “What is learning without virtue? What progress can there be without progress in goodness?”
Today’s generations accept things unthinkable to past ones. Yet we claim to be a Christian people and often hypocritically call upon God to bless us and this nation.
Would a real Christian nation blindly tolerate the huge shameless number of unmarried people living together? Would it tolerate four out of 10 illegitimate births or the millions of unborn slaughtered by an invented right? Would it support our huge porno industry, calling it by the oxymoron “adult entertainment”? An entertainment industry that constantly promotes and gives rise to license with shameless filth?
Meanwhile, clergy refuse to speak out as their endangered flocks become a nation of the dumbed down, spoiled, profane, crude, hedonistic people who are only descendants of Christians.
