ast year ended with a bang at The Feed Co. Table & Tavern.

“There was not a day in December we didn’t have a party,” said Executive Chef Charlie Loomis, referring to events hosted in Feed Co.’s new on-site event space, featuring exposed brick walls and heart pine community-style tables. It also boasts its own menu, entrance, bar and patio.

“People see this space and they instantly want to find a reason to have a party,” Charlie said.

Indeed, party-planning has become a full-time job at Feed Co. And Leslie Morales, married to Feed Co. co-owner Miguel Morales, has stepped up to meet the demand. For years Leslie has worked behind the scenes at the restaurant, updating its website and social media. Now she has taken on a more comitted roll, working with Charlie to plan menus and book events — which are likely to continue to fill the calendar in 2018.

In February Feed Co. will introduce to its menu 100-percent grass-fed wagyu beef, locally and exclusively sourced from a beef farm in Alabama.

“It’s so good, you can’t even describe it,” Leslie said.

“Best beef I’ve ever tasted,” Charlie agreed.

Charlie said he is making his first trip to the processor on Feb. 21. But in the meantime, private event reservations are continuing to roll in.

“Nonprofits, wedding rehearsals, high school graduations — we’ve already booked parties into September,” said Leslie.
