Between its pool tables, dart boards and near-constant streaming of various games on its numerous TVs, Diamond Billiard Club knows a thing or two about competition.

“I like to say we’re the winning-est bronze medalists around,” General Manager Jesse Howard once said, in relation to Diamond’s “almost world famous” wings.

For the last three years, the restaurant’s blackberry bourbon Sriracha wings have taken third place in the wings competition held during the annual Tennessee Whiskey Festival in Chattanooga. This year, the event will take place Sept. 15 — and Jesse is confident it is Diamond’s year.

“We’re already getting ready,” Jesse said. “We’re focusing our attention on that competition.”

In the meantime, diners can sample Diamond’s wings, available bone-in, bone-out or smoked, in more than a dozen different sauces or rubs — including the blackberry bourbon Sriracha — any day of the week. And while cleaning those bones, diners can get into the competitive spirit by watching a baseball game.

“After the All-Star break, we’re playing all the Major League Baseball games from now until the end of the season,” Jesse said.
