Shawn Banks brings his brand of “happy-sarcastic” comedy to The Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St., Thursday through Sunday, June 28 to July 1.
At 6 feet, 3 inches and 300 pounds, Banks is built like a defensive tackle. In 2005, he auditioned and landed a stand-up spot on the Tom Joyner Sky Show at Walt Disney World Milk House in front of more than 4,000 people.
He was a finalist for Comedy Central’s 2007-2008 South Beach Comedy Festival & Open Mic Fight. Banks also won $1,000 and first-place in Nestle-Purina’s Pet Comedy Challenge. In 2009, Banks was a semifinalist on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent.”
Shows are 7:30 p.m. each night, with an additional 9:45 p.m. show on Saturday. Tickets are $10 on Thursday; $16 for all other shows.
