CJ Starr, twice voted Crowd Favorite at the East Texas Comedy Festival, brings his stand-up comedy to The Comedy Catch, 1400 Market St., Thursday through Sunday, March 15-18.
Originally from Detroit, Starr now lives in Dallas. His comedy reaches all ages as he makes fun of his upbringing, his biracial marriage, family, kids, stereotypes, jail time, college and anything else that can happen to a mid-30’s man as he tries to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up.
Starr finished in the top five at the 2012 Funniest Comic in Texas. He expanded his comedic talent as writer and actor to create the Web series “Giggle-Lows.” He has appeared in commercials for Hyundai and Walmart, and has a podcast called “Starr Struck,” in which he interviews comedians, club owners and anybody else with a great story that keeps fans laughing.
Tickets are $10 for shows Thursday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for either the 7:30 or 9:45 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday.
