LOOKOUTS 7, BAYBEARS 6 (10)

Wednesday’s recap: In the first extra-inning game for Chattanooga involving the new rule of placing a runner on second base, LaMonte Wade advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored the winning run on Brent Rooker’s sacrifice to right field. The Lookouts (14-12) prevented Mobile from scoring in the bottom of the 10th by turning a game-ending double play. Mobile tied the game in the ninth inning on a Connor Justus infield single that scored Hutton Moyer. Chattanooga broke a scoreless tie with a four-run third inning, with Nick Gordon hitting an RBI double to right field, Edgar Corcino a two-run double to right and Chris Paul an RBI infield single. The Lookouts made it 5-0 in the fourth inning, when Alex Perez walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch, got to third on a Wade flyout to right, and scored on another wild pitch. It was 6-0 until the sixth inning, when Mobile sliced the deficit in half largely due to Riley Unroe’s two-run triple to right.

Next up: Game two of a five-game series in Mobile is tonight at 7:35 Eastern.

Pitchers: Kohl Stewart (2-1, 5.82) is scheduled to start for the Lookouts, with Jose Rodriguez (1-2, 2.61) scheduled for the BayBears.
