Just three weeks after the release of debut album “Stranger,” Luthi will be at Songbirds Guitar Museum for a show at 9 p.m. Saturday, May 26.

With nine members, Luthi brings a big party to town. In fact, their show has been described as a “Boogie Circus.”

“We like the term Cumberland Funk, too,” says frontman Christian Luthi on the band’s website.

Traveling in a pack that harkens back to big-band days, the members of Luthi have honed in on the one thing that all nine of them can agree on: “keeping it weird.”

Drawing from influences that include soul, R&B acts from the 1960s, psychedelic funk and groove from the ’70s, and New Wave rock and roll from the ’80s, Luthi turns out modern dance music with lyrics and melodies that open themselves up to listeners with each performance.

Opening for Luthi will be indie rock quartet Lenox Hills.
