Historic Read House renovated
The Avocent Hospitality Group, which acquired Chattanooga’s oldest hotel in 2016, celebrated the completion of the first phase of the $27 million upgrade of the Read House Hotel at M.L. King Boulevard and Broad Street in downtown Chattanooga. The the grand lobby, Silver Ballroom and Green Room have been refurbished and by next spring the entire 141-room hotel will be completely renovated.
Chamber of Commerce Open House
The Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce opened its Broad Street offices to its more than 2,000 members during the group’s 2018 Open House in September. The Chamber leads Chattanooga’s economic development, regional planning and Education 2.0 support as well as providing a host of membership support activities through its councils, seminars and special programs.
