Election Commission Administrator Kerry Steelman said at 6:15 p.m. that a good turnout over the final hours of voting will bring today’s election will shatter the 2014 midterm voting totals and approach 2016 turnout in the presidential election. Hamilton County voted more people early in 2016 than on Election Day for the first time in its history, with 74,715 voting early and 70,298 on Election Day for a total of 145,049. Early voting in 2018 was 67,403 and Steelman believes that number will be matched in today’s voting, which will bring the total turnout to around 135,000, or 93 percent of the 2016 total.
