In August 2013, I moved to Chattanooga to write for Dining Out magazine.
“Meet our new writer!” read that first issue. “Sunny Montgomery recently relocated to Chattanooga from Kentucky with an appetite for good food, strong coffee and new experiences.”
My appetite for all three – especially for new experiences – has yet to be sated. I crave the growth and transformation that occurs only outside of familiarity. And now, five years later, both the magazine and I have changed.
Following this issue, I will be stepping away from Dining Out in order to pursue new paths at the Times Free Press. At the same time, the magazine will be altering its format.
Beginning next week, Dining Out will no longer appear in the Sunday paper. Rather, the food stories and restaurant listings will become part of Chattanooga Now, the entertainment guide featured in the Thursday paper.
So I bid you farewell, dear Dining Out readers. Thank you for sharing your Sundays with me over the years. It’s been a delicious experience.
