Jonathan “JohnBoy” Wright will lead Thursday’s Levitt Amp audience in the “Victory Dance” and other hits when he and the 15-piece Surround Sound play at Bessie Smith Cultural Center, 200 E. M.L. King Blvd., at 6 p.m.
With a sound that has been described as Cab Calloway, Lil Jon, Earth, Wind and Fire combined, the East Atlanta-based Wright fronts Surround Sound’s mix of searing guitars, funky rhythms and explosive five-piece brass section that is sure to get everyone up on their feet and grooving the night away.
