Former University of Tennessee at Chattanooga standout Casey Jones was selected in the third round of the NBA’s G-League draft.

The 6-foot-6 Jones will continue his basketball career with the Fort Wayne Mat Ants, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers. He was drafted by the Texas Legends with the 20th pick in the third round before his rights were traded to Fort Wayne. The Mat Ants begin play Nov. 2.

Jones played at UTC from 2012 to 2017, appearing in 119 games. He redshirted in 2015-16, when the Mocs won 29 games and advanced to the NCAA tournament. Jones finished sixth all-time at UTC in scoring (1,321), fourth in rebounding (662) and seventh in blocks (93), with career averages of 11.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 51 percent shooting.

He started 113 games, third all-time among the Mocs behind former teammate Greg Pryor, who had 125 starts, and Willie White (1981-84), who had 119.

Jones most recently played for Rivadavia of the Argentinian basketball league La Liga, where he was one of the team’s leading scorers.
