All-faith community vigil to be held in response to Pittsburgh synagogue shooting

___

In the wake of Saturday's tragic mass shooting in Pittsburg at the Tree of Life Synagogue, an all-faith community vigil is being held Monday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Jewish Cultural Center in Chattanooga.

According to an announcement issued Sunday by the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, organizers of the local vigil seek "to begin the healing process and assure that peace and loving kindness in lieu of fear is promoted in our community."

The event, described as a stand against hatred and intolerance, will be held at the Jewish Cultural Center at 5461 North Terrace Road. There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome regardless of religious affiliation, organizers said. This event is made possible by the B'nai Zion Congregation, Mizpah Congregation and Chabad of Chattanooga.
