The Friday before Patriot Day, celebrated to honor the heroes and those lost in the terrorist attacks of 9/11, Signal Mountain Middle/High School held a special ceremony honoring veterans.
Before the Eagles football team took the field in a game against Whitwell, members of Boy Scout Troop 116 provided a color guard and raised the American flag; “Ensemble,” a new addition to the high school’s choirs, sang the national anthem; the Signal Corps Marching Band performed each military branch song; and representatives from American Legion Post #95 played “Taps” and offered a 21-gun salute.
