KNOXVILLE – Chris Rumph, Tennessee’s outside linebackers coach and co-defensive coordinator, has seen a change in Darrell Taylor this offseason.

He has a pretty good idea why, too.

“I’m going to tell you like this, man, and be honest with you,” Rumph said earlier this month. “Any time there’s money involved with it, guys seem to pick it up a little bit. It’s his last year (of college football), and he’s trying to create as much value for himself as possible.

“But knowing Darrell, if it wasn’t possible he had an opportunity to go to the NFL, I think he would still be doing the same thing, because I think he enjoys ball and I think he enjoys getting better.”

Rumph sees some areas in which the 6-foot-4, 255-pound senior needs to improve to reach that next level.
