CGLA students learn financial literacy skills

A East Tennessee-based community bank, SouthEast Bank, recently honored more than 30 graduates from its Financial Scholars program at the Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy.

The program is an interactive, web-based course that provides students with “critical skills needed to make sound financial decisions,” according to a press release.

SouthEast Bank has partnered with leading education technology Company EverFi, Inc., to bring this interactive, web-based financial management program to 75 schools and more than 22,196 students.

“I hope that as these students make financial decisions in their daily lives, they think back to this experience,” said Ron Jones, Chattanooga City President of SouthEast Bank, in a statement. “This is just the beginning – SouthEast Bank is proud to be a partner in this quest to prepare our students for their financial futures.”
