Golden Years
Some days (i.e. Mondays and Fridays), I like to daydream about my retirement. How will I choose to spend those reclaimed waking hours?
Will my days stretch languidly from one to the next or will I, perhaps, board a boat and sail around the world, racking up as many new experiences as there are hours in a day? Will I merely do all the routine things I fruitlessly promise myself I can squeeze in now, finally prioritizing my nutrition and fitness, or that one big thing: adopting or fostering children?
Or maybe I’ll go back to school to chase a hobby and wind up starting a new career? Or a nonprofit? It has always been a dream of mine to visit places around the world to offer direct aid.
Just like dreams, retirement can take many forms. Chatter is on the hunt for people who are using their second act for big things – unusual new endeavors; pushing beyond their perceived boundaries; giving back in major ways. To nominate yourself or someone you know, click the link below.
