Chattanooga-based medical device maker Fillauer provided a para-athlete with a sprint blade that helped propel him to a gold medal last month in a world championship competition in Dubai.
“We’re super excited,” said Fillauer Companies President Traci B. Dralle about the orthotic and prosthetic device maker that has its headquarters in the city.
Ronald Hertog, a Dutch runner, won gold at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships last month using the Obsidian Sprint Blade from Fillauer, she said.
Fillauer said Hertog’s time in the 200-meter T64 event was 22:20 seconds, which is a Dutch national record and a personal high.
