With a trimmed-down Riverbend Festival eliminating its alcohol-free Faith and Family Night, JFest organizers believe they can fill the void.
In a statement Friday, JFest organizers Partners for Christian Media reminded patrons the music festival this year will take place on May 18 at the Tennessee Riverpark on Amnicola Highway. In previous years, it had been at Camp Jordan in East Ridge.
Organizers said the Riverbend change helps the Christian event seize the opportunity to grow.
“Last May, when finishing up the final Jfest planning, we knew it was time to refresh and recharge our festival,” Jfest director Ted Gocke said in the statement. “Our crowds had begun to outgrow our current home of Camp Jordan, and we were excited to take Jfest to the next level.”
Friends of the Festival board member Mary Kilbride said the board struggled with losing Riverbend’s Faith and Family Night, but going to a four-day event played a big part in that decision.
This year’s Jfest lineup includes hip-hop artist Lecrae, Matthew West, Tauren Wells, Building 429, Ryan Stevenson, The Young Escape and Riley Clemmons.
