Last week, the city of Fort Oglethorpe acknowledged the Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe High School football team for its successful 2018 football season, presenting the players and their coach, Bo Campbell, with a proclamation followed by a reception.
“In four years here, these guys have worked hard enough to have had two historic years,” said Campbell, referencing the 2018 season as well as the year prior, when the team beat Ringgold for the first time in 13 years.
The team’s list of accomplishments over the past year include:
* Making the playoffs for the first time in nine years
* Hosting a playoff game for the first time in more than 14 years
* Beating North Murray 19-9 in the host playoff game
* Being named true (not subdividing) region runner-ups, second only to Calhoun
“Thanks so much to all of you at the city for always being so supportive of our school and our football program,” Campbell told local officials.
