After Gerald and Kathy Crabb founded a Southern gospel group in their rural Kentucky church in 1996, the family name became synonymous with top-tier gospel music for over two decades.
The Crabb Family received Grammy Award nominations three consecutive years, won Dove Awards for Song of the Year and Album of the Year three consecutive years and notched 16 No. 1 songs on national radio charts.
In August 2006, the Crabb children - oldest son Jason, twin brothers Adam and Aaron, and sisters Kelly and Terah - decided to say farewell and move on to separate ministries. To thank their fans for supporting them over the previous decade, they launched a farewell tour. The Crabb family's last day as a group was Aug. 1, 2007.
After that, Jason started his own solo career. Aaron formed a duo with wife Amanda, while Adam and Terah started a band called Crabb Revival.
Kelly joined her husband, Mike, as a member of The Bowling Family. Aaron became a founding member of the quartet Canton Junction in 2011. In 2014, Adam joined the Gaither Vocal Band.
But they just couldn't stay apart for long.
The Crabb Family reunited for a Celebration Tour in November 2011 through February 2012. Then they celebrated 20 years of Christian music ministry with a reunion tour in 2015.
Now the family is taking a third bow. The Crabb Family is back on the road again with its Encore Tour 2019, which stops at Redemption to the Nations Church in Highland Park on Friday night, Jan. 11.
And they still keep the show all about family. Joining the Crabbs will be Mike Bowling with the Bowling Sisters.
Three tiers of tickets are offered, each with a specified entry time. Doors open for general admission at 6 p.m. before the 7 p.m. concert.
