STEM School student accepted into BASF program

Angelica Ramirez, a senior at STEM School Chattanooga, is one of 20 high school students in North America to be selected for the BASF Summer Science Academy program this summer.

The two-week learning experience begins in July 13 at Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, New Jersey.

Ramirez will have the opportunity to visit BASF research labs and gain hands-on experience in a university chemistry lab setting alongside university professors. Participants take courses on chemistry and related sciences and interact with BASF scientists and business leaders.

Students will eventually create a personal care product, such as hair gel, shampoo or lotion, and develop a marketing plan for it.
