The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga softball team won two more games Friday in Clearwater, Florida, and now is 20-5 for the season.

The Mocs edged Wichita State 3-2 and then beat LIU Brooklyn 8-1 in the second weekend of the USF Under Armour Invitational. They are scheduled to play Seton Hall and North Dakota State at 2 and 4:15 p.m. Saturday.

Celie Hudson pitched a seven-hitter with eight strikeouts against Wichita State, when UTC scored on an Emma Sturdivant groundout in the first inning and on Halie Williamson’s bases-loaded walk and Amanda Beltran’s single in the third. Leadoff batter Emily Coltharp scored the first two runs; Aly Walker scored the third.

Beltran’s second-inning solo home run began the scoring against LIU Brooklyn, and Walker’s and Hayleigh Weissenbach’s singles sandwiching a Devan Brown RBI walk made it 4-0 in the third. Another bases-loaded walk for Williamson padded the Mocs’ margin to 5-0 in the fourth, and Katie Corum’s two-run double in the sixth and Sturdivant’s one-run double in the seventh increased the lead to 8-0.

Coltharp was 3-for-4 and scored twice, Beltran was 3-for-5 and Walker was 2-for-3. Mariah Ramirez allowed 10 hits but raised her pitching record to 9-0. She struck out six batters.
