After 10 movies in which she destroyed a fast-food restaurant with her car, went to jail, dispensed advice (wanted or not) and quoted the “pre-scriptures,” movie matriarch Madea is being retired by actor Tyler Perry.

Perry is popping on Madea’s signature silver wig and house dress to make a final victory lap of the nation’s theaters as he headlines “Madea’s Farewell Play Tour” with Tamela Mann, David Mann and Cassi Davis. The tour stops in Memorial Auditorium on Thursday, May 9, for a 7 p.m. performance.

But if you haven’t gotten tickets yet, you’re out of luck. The play sold out last week.
