Kids can keep cool on Saturday, June 8, at the Chattanooga Zoo’s 4th annual Ice Cream Safari.
The Zoo will close to the general public at 3 p.m. before gates reopen from 4-7 p.m. for the event, according to a release from the Zoo.
Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for children (ages 3-12). Chattanooga Zoo members receive 50% off admission ticket price and all children ages 2 and under are free. General admission includes animal meet-and-greets, education stations and animal enrichment.
Guests can purchase $5 wristbands for all-you-can-eat ice cream throughout the entire zoo. This year’s vendors include Wendy’s, Moon Pie, Dippin’ Dots, Mayfield, Clumpies, Blue Bell, Ice Cream Show, and ICEE.
In addition to ice cream from all vendors, the wristbands include face painting, bounce houses, special animal enrichment, and animal meet & greets. Wristbands do not include event admission.
“We are always looking for different ways for our guests to enjoy the Zoo while beating the summer heat, and we think Ice Cream Safari has proved to do just that,” Chattanooga Zoo CEO and President Dardenelle Long said in the release. “We look forward to the growth of this year’s event!”
The event will also feature camel feedings, Zoo Choo train rides and snack carts, all at additional cost.
Event tickets and wristbands are now available for purchase online. If not sold out, wristbands will be sold the day of the event for $8 each.
