Legacybox, the Chattanooga-based mail-in solution for digitizing home videos and photos, plans to hire as many as 40 new workers in preparation for the upcoming holiday season.
On the heels of its biggest October yet, the company said it expects even bigger sales leading into a Holiday season as families choose to give the gift of securing analog keepsakes and future-proofing their invaluable memories.
“Legacybox is the perfect gift for friends and families,” said Legacybox co-founders Nick Macco and Adam Boeselager. “Legacybox ensures memories, like those often made around this time of year, are able to be enjoyed for generations to come.”
Legacybox has begun hiring and training both seasonal and permanent digitizing technicians for both daytime and evening hours, part-time and full-time.

Buddy’s bar-b-q opens in Cleveland
A month after opening the first local Buddy’s bar-b-q opened in East Ridge, the local franchisee for the Knoxville-based chain opened a second local barbecue eatery in Cleveland, Tennessee Tuesday
The newest Buddy’s bar-b-q opened for business at 678 Paul Huff Parkway NW in Cleveland, across from the Publix grocery store.
“Cleveland is such an awesome place, we are thrilled to be here,” said Darik Dawes, the managing partner for the local Buddy’s bar-b-q franchise.
Dawes, who has previously operated a Sonic drive-in franchise in Chattanooga and is part-owner of the Mainstay Suites hotel in East Brainerd and the Springhill Suites by Marriott in Ooltewah, opened the first Buddy’s b-b-q in Southeast Tennessee last month at the Jordan’s Crossing retail complex at Exit 1 in East Ridge.
Buddy’s bar-b-q is a casual hometown southern restaurant that offers hickory-smoked pork, chicken, ribs, brisket, and wings, made fresh daily. Buddy’s was first established in 1972 in Knoxville and the expansion to Cleveland marks the 16th location in the Buddy’s family and the second in the greater Chattanooga area.
Mazda recall hits 117,000 vehicles
Mazda is recalling nearly 117,000 U.S. vehicles for a second time to replace potentially deadly Takata air bag inflators.
The action covers vehicles recalled from 2013 to 2017 that received Takata replacement inflators because parts from other manufacturers weren’t available.
Included are 2007 to 2012 CX-7 and CX-9 SUVs, and 2003 through 2012 Mazda6 sedans. Also covered are 2004 and 2005 MPV minivans, 2004 RX-8 sports cars, and 2006 and 2007 Mazdaspeed6 sedans.
Takata used ammonium nitrate to create a small explosion to inflate air bags. The chemical can deteriorate when exposed to high heat and humidity and burn too fast, blowing apart a metal canister and hurling shrapnel.
Dealers will replace front passenger inflators with parts that don’t have ammonium nitrate. Notification letters will be mailed by Dec. 18.
