Earlier this month, a group of Erlanger Health System nurses threw a huge pizza party for Chattanooga’s Widows Harvest Ministries, a nonprofit organization.

Thanks to Pizza Hut, more than 80 seniors enjoyed a great meal. Many of the women told the nurses it’s been years since they’ve had this type of party.

The nurses have adopted these women – doing everything from weekly health check-up calls to going bowling.

It’s just a way to give back to a group of special women who are all too often very lonely in life. Just a simple smile is a slice of life that never gets old.
