Chattanooga firefighters responded Tuesday evening to a minor apartment kitchen fire that had already been extinguished by the sprinklers by the time they arrived.
A call came in at 5 p.m. reporting a fire at The Reserve at Creekside apartments at 1340 Reserve Way, according to a Tuesday evening news release.
Initial reports were that flames were visible, the report stated.
“The resident said she put a pot with oil on the stove and fell asleep,” the report reads. “There was very minor damage to the stove area and cabinets.”
The resident and her pets were not injured.
A maintenance technician who went to check on the situation in the apartment suffered minor smoke inhalation, the report states.
