Laboring for change
If you’re among the majority of Americans who got yesterday off, pay attention to your productivity levels this week. More and more businesses are adopting four-day workweeks – and reporting significant gains in employees’ productivity, not to mention job satisfaction and overall happiness.
Sound too good to be true? A 2016 study found that the average worker spends less than three hours of an eight-hour workday actively engaged in their job. And a 2018 study reported that more than half of full-time employees believe they could do their job in five hours a day if uninterrupted.
So pay attention to your productivity levels this week and you just might have a case for less office time on a weekly basis, a fitting tribute to yesterday’s holiday.
