Two crashes are backing up inbound traffic headed toward downtown Chattanooga.
Police and emergency crews are on the scene of a crash on ramp from Interstate 75 North to Interstate 24 West at the split in the curve and Tennessee Department of Transportation SmartWay’s system shows traffic backing up rapidly for traffic headed into Chattanooga.
The accident was reported at 8:40 a.m. and is estimated to be cleared by 10:43 a.m., according to TDOT. SmartWay cameras show the backup extending south to the Georgia state line.
Another crash on I-24 East on the other end of the inbound commute was reported at 8:45 a.m. at mile marker 179 near the Market Street exit and is expected to be cleared by 9:46 .a.m.
