Nothing but Time

Life lesson: Working from home is not all it was cracked up to be.

Before my company- and now government-mandated telework, there was many a day when I imagined what it must be like: spending the day lounging in pajamas and taking a leisurely approach to my many to-do’s; a workday with no interruptions or distractions. What a luxury!

With my lap now substituting as my desk, I’ve found myself working early in the morning, late at night and on the weekends – in pajamas, yes, but even we are getting sick of each other. Turns out you need other options to make one seem more appealing.

My glamorized perspective banked on a comparative work scenario – and distractions.

“It’s surprising how easily and quickly we can insulate ourselves,” I told my friend this weekend while getting some sorely needed, socially distanced fresh air. “But it’s equally amazing how this simple time outside can snap you back to all of the world’s possibilities.”
