Greetings, Chattanooga!
Let’s taco ’bout tacos. You can eat them with carne asada, pit-grilled pork or even fried chicken. Yup, the taco has experienced a social and global evolution – not to mention, says taco expert José R. Ralat, it has transcended borders, barriers and bullets.
Ralat (whose official title is “taco editor” at Texas Monthly) just wrote a book all about it, “American Tacos: A History and Guide.” Read about it here.
And now, today’s top stories:
City officials say they’re relying on the “spirit of Chattanooga” to endure and rebuild after Sunday’s tornado.
As soon as the storm had passed Monday morning, teachers and staff at Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts got to work. Now, Hamilton County Schools is asking for donations from the community.
And, who remembers when the Olgiati Bridge was under construction in 1959?
