A man was arrested by the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Monday after a roughly four-hour SWAT standoff during which he fired a gun at deputies.

No injuries were sustained by deputies.

Donald Long, 64, was on the front porch of a Patterson Lane residence when deputies arrived at around 3 p.m. after being called for a reported domestic assault, according to a Bradley County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The deputies asked Long to come down from the porch to speak with them, but he ignored their orders and went inside the home and locked the door. So the deputies approached the door and knocked.

That’s when a gunshot was fired from inside the residence. Investigators later found that the shot was aimed at the same door behind which deputies had been standing.
