The Chattanooga Way
No doubt 2020 will be written about in history books one day. America especially is at a turning point socially, economically and politically, and the reverberations will surely be felt for a long time.
These pivotal moments, stacking up daily like dominoes, will define our course. But circumstances are not what define a people. Those definitions come from the everyday opportunities to help a neighbor in need and use your voice, heart and hands to help right inequities.
I would be lying if I didn’t say I am a bit nervous. The unknown can have that effect. But I am also humbled and heartened by the many ways Chattanoogans have already risen to meet the challenges of these life-altering times – examples that solidify the definition of our spirit, which has become known as “the Chattanooga Way.”
This month, we explore some of those instances. They give me faith that we’ll be able to pick ourselves and each other up.
It’s the Chattanooga Way.
