POLK COUNTY WILDCATS

Head coach: Rusty Brewer (0-10 in one year here and overall)

Returning starters: 6 offensive; 5 defensive

Key players: RB Eddie Lamb (5-8, 195); OL/DL Cameron Coffey (6-5, 245); QB Kole Green (6-2, 180); LB Gavin Dunke (5-11, 225); DB Ryan Cronan (5-11, 195); DB Daniel Martin (6-0, 170); DL Bo Frank (6-1, 245).

Team strengths: Due to a rash of injuries last season, many newcomers and underclassmen gained valuable experience. The Wildcats have a good shot at getting back in the win column with the returns of Green and Lamb (1,038 career yards, 10 touchdowns) to lead the offense.

Team concerns: Polk County will need to wear down opponents with a smash-mouth mentality. Team speed is not a plus this season, but a new incorporation of the split-back veer offense will try to control the clock and gain solid chunks of yardage one play at a time behind the push of a talented lineman and leader in Coffey.
