Steve and Sylvia Chardos are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 23.
They met at a Catholic youth gathering as teenagers. Later, Steve was Sylvia’s biggest fan when she played Maria in “The Sound of Music” at her high school. They say their life has been a musical made for Broadway ever since.
Though they say they are happiest when their three sons, three daughters-in-law and seven grandchildren are all gathered with them, they will spend their golden anniversary in this pandemic year playing Rummikub and probably ordering pizza in their Hixson home.
