Greetings, outdoorspeople!
- Weekend forecast: Saturday; high 51, early showers/ Sunday; high 54, partly cloudy
- Recommended adventure: Give thanks and give back to Mother Nature on Sunday, Dec. 6, when Wild Trails hosts another Chattanooga Creek cleanup. Participants will meet at 3405 St. Elmo Ave. at 11 a.m. Following the cleanup, at 2 p.m., there will be food from Crust Pizza and beer from Oddstory. Learn more about the ongoing effort here.
- Most interesting thing we recently learned about nature: There is a swirl of garbage the size of Texas spanning the waters between North America and Japan. Known as the “Great Pacific Garbage Patch,” more than half the debris comes from land-based activities in North America and Asia, while the rest comes from boaters, offshore oil rigs and large cargo ships.
