Greg Callaham Graphic Design wins five awards
For the 11th consecutive year, Greg Callaham Graphic Design has earned national recognition for creative excellence in advertising design. Callaham received five American Graphic Design Awards from Graphic Design USA, a national trade publication, for his work on behalf of AdWorks Outdoor Advertising, Explore Chattanooga, Hollywog, Lake Billboard and Sisson Outdoor Advertising.
Callaham’s award-winning billboard campaign for AdWorks Outdoor Advertising promoted the outdoor recreational activities near Poplar Bluff, Missouri, for the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce. The ads featured a silhouette of people fishing from a boat on the lake at sunset and a canoe adventure by a father and daughter.
The logo for Explore Chattanooga was created at the request of a Chattanooga business that promotes local businesses to visitors in the Chattanooga area. The logo appears on printed materials offering important information and discounts to tourists to encourage them to visit area attractions and destinations. Arrowheads at the ends of certain straight lines in the letters indicate the variety of directions one can go to explore all Chattanooga has to offer.
Callaham’s design for the Lake Billboard logo uses a bold, strong font for the first word of the business name, a precise, geometric font for the second word, and stylized water graphics to complete the logo. The visual conveys power, integrity and longevity for the client’s business while paying homage to nearby Lake Erie.
“I’m grateful to the AGDA for the opportunity to shine a national spotlight on clients such as these who see the value in memorable advertising messages and brand identity,” Callaham said.
Greg Callaham Graphic Design is a Chattanooga graphic design studio offering print and digital creative for outdoor advertising to serve the medical and rehabilitation device industry, catalogs and product brochures, logo design and corporate identity packages, and a wide range of other advertising and marketing materials to the global marketplace.
Jerry Weaver to head sales at McLemore Club
Jerry Weaver has been named director of sales for the newly opened McLemore Club located on Lookout Mountain.
Beginning his career as a sales manager based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Weaver grew the markets he served to produce over $21 million annually in just over seven years. During this time, he rose to become global account director with Starwood Hotels where he marketed more than 1,600 hotels.
Weaver said he is passionate about building experiences and marketing locales that are destination-driven.
“The property and course (at The McLemore Club) are extremely well-executed, the clubhouse is top-notch and we have the ability to provide an experience like no other in the region.” he said.
He added that while many people will be drawn to the club to play the nationally acclaimed “best finishing hole in golf,” many others will come to the area to enjoy the many other amenities that now includes fine dining.
“Because The Creag restaurant is now open to the public, we have a tremendous opportunity to introduce locals to a dining experience that is as unique as the view they will enjoy,” Weaver said.
McLemore President and CEO Duane Horton said Weaver’s diverse background in the hospitality industry makes him a perfect fit for McLemore “and we can’t wait to see where his leadership takes us.”
Weaver received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from California University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife are the parents of two grown daughters.
