MOCS MATCHUP

ETSU (19-4, 8-2 SoCon) vs. UTC (14-9, 5-5)

Wednesday at 7 p.m. at McKenzie Arena

TV & Radio: ESPN+ & 97.7 FM/1070 AM

Storyline: The Southern Conference’s odd schedule has these two rivals playing for the second time in 10 days and will be the third completed league home-and-away for the Mocs (who have yet to play VMI, for some reason). Anyway, the Buccaneers won 75-64 in Johnson City behind Bo Hodges’ 27 points and by building a huge second-half lead and holding off a late UTC run. East Tennessee State often puts four guards on the floor at the same time – primarily Hodges, Tray Boyd III, Isaiah Tisdale and Davien Williamson – but those guys all are very capable of scoring and rebounding in the lane. Keeping them off the offensive boards and not turning the ball over (18 turnovers in the first meeting) are huge keys for victory Wednesday night.
