Your Thursday at a glance:
- Weather: High 88; scattered showers and storms
- What to eat: Banana pancakes! Here’s our recipe.
- What to do: Check out Southern writer Karen Salyer McElmurray’s new novel, exploring the bond between mother and daughter through tarot cards, palm readings or other means of divination.
- What we’re excited about: Chattanooga’s Leslie Jordan, who, a few months ago, didn’t know he was about to hit it big.
Greetings, Chattanooga!
Remember yesterday when we told you about cartoonist Clay Bennett’s recent award?
Well, we don’t mean to brag, but a whole bunch of our staff just won awards, too – 13 to be exact, including eight first-place awards in this year’s Society of Professional Journalists’ Green Eyeshade Awards, a contest among news organizations across 11 Southeastern states.
We’re super proud!
