Each year, United Nations’ World Refugee Day (June 20) honors the courage and contributions of refugees in communities across the globe. This year, Chattanooga’s Bridge Refugee Services is holding a week of action and fun activities. From June 14-20, the nonprofit will livestream opportunities to learn more about the cultures and experiences of refugees via a cooking demonstration, storytelling, music and dance performances. World Refugee Day kits, available for a $25 donation, offer supplementary materials to help you engage in the online events, from kids’ activities to henna tattoo supplies to tasty treats from local ethnic groceries.
