One of the area's most popular concerts for fans of Southern gospel music takes place Saturday night, March 7, at Memorial Auditorium, 399 McCallie Ave., when Paul Belcher presents his 47th "Battle of Songs" concert.
Performing will be Triumphant Quartet, Karen Peck and New River, Inspirations and Primitive Quartet. A pre-concert performance will be sung by The Williamsons.
"Triumphant Quartet has won Male Quartet of the Year 12 years in row," says Belcher.
"Karen Peck and New River just won a Dove Award for Song of the Year, and Triumphant won one also for Album of the Year," says the promoter.

Triumphant's new album, "Yes," won the 2019 Dove Award for Southern Gospel Album of the Year. Last fall, Triumphant won Singing News fan awards for Artist of the Year, Group of the Year, Favorite Bass for Eric Bennett and Song of the Year for "Even Me."
Karen Peck and New River is a family group based in Dahlonega, Georgia. Karen Peck Gooch was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2018 and served two terms as the first female president of the Southern Gospel Music Association.
