Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Corrections Deputy Krystl Yvette Wofford was arrested early Thursday morning after a warrant for her arrest was taken out by the Chattanooga Police Department, according to a news release.
The warrant was taken out on March 11 for alteration of an item serial number, which is a class A misdemeanor, police said.
Wofford was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
The arrest Thursday morning was also a result of an executed search warrant on Feb. 11. Wofford was placed on administrative leave with pay immediately after the search warrant, the release states.
The investigation is ongoing.
