NEW TAZEWELL, Tenn. (AP) – The body of a woman believed to have fallen overboard from a pontoon boat was recovered Friday, Tennessee officials said.
Barbara P. Morgan, 73, of Knoxville, was on a boat being operated by her husband, Paul Richard Morgan, 75, on Thursday on Norris Lake in East Tennessee. He entered the water and tried to rescue her when the boat drifted away, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency said in a news release. He swam to a nearby island and was picked up by a boat passing by. He was taken to a hospital and treated for hypothermia.
Wildlife officials used a remote-operated vehicle to locate Barbara Morgan’s body in 70 feet of water. The location was just outside the wave break at Rock Harbor development in Claiborne County, the release said.
